WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
THE WORKSHOP PACKAGE In this comprehensive 8-hour workshop; I'll present you with some practical songwriting concepts and techniques; guide you through some steps to help open the door to your personal creativity. You'll be asked and instructed to create a song from scratch; present each phase of its construction over the course of the workshop; and ultimately prepare your song for a demo-recording (at Star City Studio Productions). COST OF WORKSHOP PACKAGE INCLUDES : * (8) Hrs of presentation; application toward successful completion of new song * Booklet/Content (Techniques for successful song construction and recording) * Voucher (2) Hrs of demo-recording at Start City Studio Productions ( Studio A) * Production input and guidance during the demo process. *BOOK BEFORE FEB 04 and recieve $100.00 off the indicated enrollment Fee (Reduced price will be $140.00 to enroll in the workshop course.) Use PROMO CODE: 022525 SCHEDULE: TUESDAY, FEB 04 - The Song What is a good song? We'll cover Basic Terms and Definitions, Song parts and pieces, arrangement patterns, timing. When applied creatively, These make up a good song. Exercises, Assignments and presentations to follow. THURSDAY, FEB 06 - Charting Systems We'll learn about the basic Nashville Numbering system; Chord Charting. Exercises, Assignments and presentations to follow. TUESDAY, FEB 11 - The Lyrics We'll examine some poetic /lyrical format & technique. When committed and applied with good melody and vocalization; the song can become powerfully influential. Exercises, Assignments and presentations to follow. THURSDAY, FEB 13 - Wrap Ups Will discusss copyright basics, studio recording tips, Conclude with final presentations. PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS: -Beginner through advanced songwriters are welcomed -Bring a simple notebook and pen or pencil. -Option 1: An Acoustic Guitar* with accessories (Picks, tuner, Spare set of strings) -Option 2: Other instrument (with associated accessories) * Piano/Keyboard: The Studio has an in-house piano. *Non-Guitarists will be asked to partner up with guitarists, wherever possible.

The enrollment fee will become non-refundable (on and thereafter) 24 hours immediately preceding the workshop's scheduled start date. If a scheduling conflict should arise; we will accommodate by offering alternative date/time arrangements. This Workshop Enrollment/Subscription is valid for the duration of the indicated session dates and/or any other mutually agreed upon arrangements (not to exceed 8 session hours).
